About the founder

I always had a passion to work with children but did not realize it was my purpose. As a teenager and young adult I worked as a playground counselor, studied Child Care and Human Development with a focus on Child and Adolescent Development in college, Vacation Bible School Teacher/Activity Coordinator and volunteered at a children's home for dependent and neglected children in the New York City area. I also worked for a victim assistance organization in Washington, DC.

One Sunday summer afternoon while sitting in my car talking on the phone with my best friend, I shared my concern about a  teen girl  I wanted to reach out to. He listened intently as I poured my heart out. He then said  to me; if you are so passionate about working with teen girls, why are you not doing what you are passionate about?  That question hit me like a ton of bricks!  My vision for Standing In Faith was born! I realized that although I worked with teen girls, I never knew that it was my purpose in life. I am so thankful and appreciative that he was the vessel that was used to open my eyes. My previous jobs and education was part of the preparation for me to transition into my purpose! Nothing happens by coincidence. Our life experiences and trials are just pieces of the puzzle.  And like a puzzle, the pieces fit perfectly to complete the picture! I am passionate about empowering teen girls to fly above the clouds!
